This report summarises the audit activities and outcomes during the 6-month period covering construction activities for the M80 Ring Road Completion and Eastern Freeway Upgrades from November 2023 – April 2024.

10 audits were conducted during the reporting period.

A total of 35 audit findings were raised and each work package established corrective actions to address the audit findings.

  • M80 Ring Road Completion: 0 non-compliances, 7 areas for improvement and 4 observations. The M80 Ring Road Alliance has addressed and closed out all findings identified during the reporting period.

  • Eastern Freeway Upgrades (Burke Road to Tram Road): 4 non-compliances, 4 areas for improvement and 4 observations. The Eastern Freeway (Burke to Tram) Alliance closed out 3 of the non-compliance findings identified during the reporting period. The IEA does not consider that the audit findings closed during the reporting period represent systemic issues or present significant or ongoing material risks to the environment. The 1 non-compliance finding that remained open at the end of the reporting period will require appropriate corrective action to manage and control environmental risks.
  • Indara tower relocation works: 5 non-compliances, 1 area for improvement, and 6 observations. Indara has addressed and closed out all non-compliance findings identified during the reporting period.
  • Eastern Freeway Upgrades (Hoddle Street to Burke Road): this package of works had not commenced within the reporting period.
  • Eastern Freeway Upgrades (Tram Road to Springvale Road): this package of works had not commenced within the reporting period.
