The Victorian Government is delivering three new stations at Goornong, Huntly and Raywood to give people in these growing communities access to train services close to where they live.

The new station at Goornong is located between the Midland Highway and the rail line in Goornong, to the west of the Chute Street/Goornong-Barnadown Road level crossing.

The new station includes:

  • a single-sided platform on the south side of the rail line
  • lighting, seating and shelter
  • signage, CCTV and public address (PA) system
  • car parking with lighting
  • bicycle hoops
  • signalised pedestrian crossing at Midland Highway.

Construction of the new Goornong Station was completed in December 2021.

What are the benefits?

The new Goornong Station is one of three new stations being delivered as part of 'Bendigo Metro 3', providing the people of Greater Bendigo with more frequent and reliable train services.

Sealed car parking and a signalised pedestrian crossing at Midland Highway make it easy for passengers to park and catch the train.

Ramps provide access to the platform for passengers with mobility aids or prams. Lighting and CCTV provides station users with added security.

Who is responsible?

The new Goornong Station is being delivered by Rail Projects Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government.

Symal Infrastructure has been appointed to design and build the new stations at Goornong, Huntly and Raywood.

Huntly Station is targeted for completion in mid- 2022, with Raywood Station to follow in late 2022.

Bendigo and Echuca Line Upgrade

The new stations at Goornong, Raywood and Huntly are being delivered as part of the Bendigo and Echuca Line Upgrade, which will enable trains to travel at higher speeds on the Echuca Line and more frequent services between Bendigo, Epsom and Eaglehawk.
