Upgrades to train technology are being completed on the last of 53 public level crossings on the Warrnambool Line, to enable the introduction of modern and accessible VLocity trains.

What we are doing

We’re completing work to upgrade level crossings between Winchelsea and Warrnambool with improved train detection technology to
improve safety and enable VLocity trains.

The final phase of works will occur at the Buckley School Road and Inverleigh-Winchelsea Road level crossings in Winchelsea.

Works will include:

• drilling and signalling works
• asphalting works.

Works will take place each day along the rail corridor near the level crossings between 7am and 7pm with occasional night works as required.

What to be aware of

Coaches will replace trains between Geelong and Warrnambool until  Sunday 25 August.

Major construction on the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication will also be completed during this time. Significant delays are expected. Check before you travel.
