Works are underway in Burwood to deliver SRL East for Melbourne and Victoria.

We're relocating utilities and continuing site establishment works while construction of a tunnel access shaft continues. This program of works will involve site investigations, fence installation and vegetation removal. They will be carried out from Monday 19 February for approximately 6 months. Works will be undertaken during day-time working hours with some night works required.

Daytime working hours

• 7am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday

Night-time working hours

• 6pm to 7am, Monday to Sunday

Work locations

Highbury Road

Monday 19 February for up to 6 months:

• Site investigation, utility relocations and site establishment between Montpellier Road and Keogh Street
• Demolition of structures.

Burwood Highway

Monday 18 March for up to 6 months:

• Site investigation, utility relocations and site establishment between McIntyre Street and Cumming Street.

McComas Grove

Monday 18 March for up to 5 months:

Utility relocations and site establishment between Burwood Highway and Coppard Street
Demolition of structures.

How we will manage our works

We will be using equipment that generates medium levels of noise, and elevated dust and vibrations. We will minimise impacts to the community by:

• Keeping Burwood Highway and Highbury Road open in both directions during day-time hours and most nights
• Maintaining access to homes and businesses
• Turning off equipment when not in use
• Applying water during cutting and drilling.

Noise impacts

As with all major infrastructure projects, surrounding communities may experience some impacts during construction. The project will support businesses and residents to ensure people can continue to live, work, study and shop in their local community.
