Works notification

Works at the Southern Outbound Portal have progressed over the year with the construction of the roof levels taking place.

Below is a summary of works that you can expect to see in the area until April 2021.

Beam installation for tunnel exit roof levels

• Beams are currently being installed to build the different roof levels of the outbound tunnel exit.
• Beams will be delivered to site by Kyle Road, however occasional overlength deliveries may need to use New Street because of turning restrictions on site.
• Works will be ongoing until April 2021.

West Gate Freeway widening works

• Works are ongoing to build the new outbound separated lanes.
• Upcoming works will include installing barrier railings and acrylic noise walls.
• Construction vehicles will use Kyle Road intermittently for these works.

What to expect during these works

• Works completed both during the day and at night.
• We will notify you if there are any significant changes to the timing of our works.
• Construction vehicles will be moving in and out of the work areas via our approved access routes.
• Water spray trucks and road sweepers will be used to manage dust and dirt during works.
• Trucks removing dirt and rock from the site will be covered and use Kyle Road.

While we expect this work will have some associated noise, we will take steps to minimise noise and will monitor any impacts. Thank you for your patience while we undertake these important activities.

Please note that works are subject to change and may be rescheduled in the event of unexpected impacts to the construction program.
