First Parkdale construction blitz a success

Back to Newsfeed

Work is powering ahead to remove the Warrigal Road and Parkers Road level crossings, with a short construction blitz taking place in early June.

Works involved trenching for service relocations at the Warrigal Road level crossing as well as drainage works along the rail line to prepare the site for major works in June.

Crews also successfully removed light poles near Parkdale Station and completed signalling and track works.

Over the coming weeks you’ll see more machinery and more workers in the area with barriers in place along Como Parade so we can safely get on with works such as piling for the elevated rail structures.

Works will continue to ramp up over the next few months as we begin construction of the temporary track that will keep trains running while we remove these 2 dangerous and congested level crossings and build a new Parkdale Station.
