In August 2024, the dangerous and congested level crossing at Warrigal Road, Mentone was removed and the new modern Parkdale Station opened to passengers.
Finishing works on the project, including works around the station building and in the new community open space, as well as planting and opening up sporting and recreational facilities under the new elevated rail, will continue into 2025.
The Frankston Line will be level crossing free by 2029, transforming the way locals live work and travel.
