Thank you for your feedback, Beaconsfield

We’re removing the level crossing at Station Street, Beaconsfield by building a new road bridge over the Pakenham Line.

Building a road bridge allows us to get rid of the crossing sooner, improve safety, and allows for possible future transport upgrades.

In October 2022, we asked the Beaconsfield community what they value about the local area, how they move around and what they'd like to see delivered as part of the project. We heard that the village-like atmosphere, pathways on and around the road bridge, and better connections between the station and local streets are important to the community.

In March 2023, we sought further feedback from the Beaconsfield community on select design elements including landscaping, colours and finishes on the new road bridge.

We heard that locals wanted to see the project deliver a new road bridge that blends in with the natural surrounds along with new native trees, shrubs, and flowering plants. Safe and accessible access to the station precinct was also important to the community.

Thank you to everyone who took their time to share ideas on the Station Street, Beaconsfield Level Crossing Removal Project.

Your feedback will play an important role in shaping the final design of the new road bridge and making sure the area meets the needs of the local community.

As the project progresses, we look forward to sharing final designs of the new road bridge and how you how your feedback has been incorporated.

Major construction will begin later this year and the level crossing will be gone for good in 2025, contributing to a level crossing-free Pakenham Line.
