Local print management company Indigi-Print is one of many Aboriginal businesses making its mark on Victoria’s biggest infrastructure project.
Indigi-Print has provided signage at Glen Waverley as part of SRL East, where works are underway along Coleman Parade.
In April alone, there were 15 Indigenous businesses working on SRL - in areas including construction, supplying personal protective equipment, first aid and fire warden training and waste services.
Based in Melbourne, Indigi-Print was established in 2017 and has developed its print services to specifically cater for the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The business provides funds for emergency relief and promotes Indigenous advancement through its operations.
Indigi-Print currently has five employees and aims to boost both Indigenous employment and community development.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is providing a huge pipeline of jobs and training opportunities throughout construction.
Almost 12,000 hours have been worked on SRL by Indigenous Australians, with 21 Indigenous businesses and 37 Indigenous workers involved on the project to date.
This year, the SRL Graduate Program has for the first time also included a dedicated place for an Aboriginal Victorian.
