New support for SRL East communities

Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) has launched a new steering committee to ensure close collaboration with multicultural communities throughout the delivery of Victoria’s biggest transport and housing project.

The Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Steering Committee is the first of its kind on a Victorian major project and is aimed at improving conversations with the diverse communities along the SRL East corridor from Cheltenham to Box Hill.

Members were appointed after an Expressions of Interest process, and include representatives from local organisations, community groups, councils and the Victorian Multicultural Commission. All members live or work in the areas around the 6 SRL East stations.

The committee is led by an independent chair and met for the first time this month – marking a big step forward in the strong and ongoing engagement with multicultural communities.
