Connecting Melbourne Airport to all metropolitan and regional rail lines via Sunshine
The Victorian Government has committed $3 million to plan for the upgrade of Barwon Heads Road between Settlement Road, South Geelong and Lower Duneed Road, Mount Duneed.
The Major Road Projects Authority has conducted a series of technical investigations looking at environmental impacts, future community needs, cultural heritage, existing and future transport demands, the regional economy, hydrology and geology implications and land use.
Planning for the Barwon Heads Road Duplication will be a four-stage process, with the refined designs to be presented to the community in late-2018.
Phases 1 to 3 are now complete, which involved:
- Initial planning and investigations
- Developing draft concept designs
- Refining options.
Phase 4 is currently in progress and involves additional refinement to the options based on community and stakeholder feedback. Revised designs will be completed in late-2018.
The Barwon Heads Road Duplication is being delivered by Major Road Projects Victoria. Visit the project website for more information.
