We've taken advantage of the expansive roof space at Arden Station to install 125kW of solar panels – 392 panels in total.
These solar panels will generate about 140MWh of electricity annually, enough to power about 50 homes. The renewable energy replaces 15% of grid electricity used by the station, and helps power lighting, ventilation, escalators and lifts.
By using renewable electricity at Arden Station we are reducing carbon emissions by around 146 tonnes per year.
The entrance roof space at Arden Station is also being used to harvest rainwater to supply non-drinking water to the station. This water will have a range of different uses, including toilet flushing.
