Across from Winsor Reserve on the east side of Greensborough Road between Yallambie and Watsonia roads, works are continuing as we finish digging out the 40m launch box area for the tunnel boring machines (TBMs). The TBMs pieces have started arriving and we’ll be receiving more superload deliveries from the Port of Melbourne with the rest of our TBM parts.

We’ll start putting together pieces of the TBMs at ground level before we launch the TBMs on their journey south starting from mid-2024.

We’re also building the 30-metre tall, 550-tonne gantry crane that will lower our TBM pieces into the launch box and finishing the large shed at the corner of Yallambie and Greensborough roads. The shed will store concrete segments used to form the walls of the 6.5km tunnels. As each TBMs digs its way underground to Bulleen, it places these concrete segments behind it.
