Planning and development

Planning work is underway and key activities include:

  • developing a project design
  • detailed traffic analysis and modelling
  • on-site investigations to test ground conditions and map utility services
  • environmental investigations to understand flora, fauna and tree species.

We expect initial planning work will be complete in mid 2027.

Construction timelines will be known once planning has progressed further.

Community feedback

From Monday 11 May to Sunday 31 May 2026, we asked for community views to help inform our planning.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback by commenting on the interactive map, competing a poll or chatting with the project team in person.

925 responses were received on our polls, 191 comments were made on our interactive map, and 69 people attended our community pop-up.

Feedback has provided important local insights, helping us better understand community views on safety, traffic flow and other key considerations for planning.

Feedback received is being used to inform our planning work.

For further information on “What You’ve Said”, view the Community Consultation Report (PDF, 873.1 KB).

Technical investigations

To help inform our planning, we’ll complete roadside technical investigations. At times, we may need to implement traffic control measures, including temporary lane closures, stop/slow traffic and reduced speeds. We’ll keep traffic disruption to a minimum and avoid busy periods, where possible.
