Final asphalt layer
From October to December, we’ll lay asphalt on sections of the southbound and northbound lanes of Epping Road, and on side roads between Craigieburn Road East and O’Herns Road.
On Epping Road, we’ll work in sections from north to south. Each section may need lane and side road closures for up to 6 days. We’ll work during the day and at night to get it done.
Access to homes and businesses may be limited while we lay the final road surface. If we need to change your driveway access, we’ll speak with you beforehand.
Local detours will be in place via Saltlake Boulevard, Hayston Boulevard and Brush Road to the east and Highpark Drive or Edgars Road to the west of Epping Road. Delays of up to 20 minutes are expected.
These works may create medium to high levels of noise, dust, and light.
We need dry, warm weather to lay asphalt. If the weather changes, we may need to return to some sections later. We’ll update you via on-road signage if we need to reschedule.
Finishing works
By the end of the year, traffic on Epping Road (and High Street) will travel on 3 lanes in each direction between Craigieburn Road East and Lyndarum Drive, and 2 lanes in each direction between Lyndarum Drive and Memorial Avenue along with extra lanes available at side road intersections.
Once this work is done, we’ll have some finishing works to complete in 2026. These works may require short-term closures of lanes and side roads. Our road signs will provide updates on these changes.
