Epping Road Upgrade

We've added extra lanes on Epping Road between Craigieburn Road East and Memorial Avenue, installed new traffic lights at Park Street, upgraded intersections and built better walking and cycling connections.

Lighting and maintenance

We’re working with utility providers to switch on permanent street lighting and remove temporary lighting. This is expected to be completed within the next couple of months. This is one of the final steps, as all public lighting must be checked and approved by the relevant authority.

You may still see occasional lane closures or reduced speeds along Epping Road at times, for ongoing road and landscaping maintenance.

As part of the Epping Road Upgrade, we’ve also:

  • installed new traffic lights at Park Street and upgraded the pedestrian traffic lights at Taggerty Grove
  • installed 6.8km of new road safety barriers along Epping Road
  • provided safer local access via new service road connections.

The Epping Road Upgrade will improve traffic flow and travel times and provide better north-south road connectivity. It will provide easier access to jobs and services, including the Epping activity centre, increasing liveability and commercial development opportunities for the Wollert area and make it easier and safer to walk or cycle around the local area.
