There will be changed traffic conditions on Somerton Road between Blossom Drive and Fleetwood Drive from early October to late November 2024, as we safely move traffic onto new lanes.
For the first time, traffic will travel on the new lanes separated by a centre median. These changes enhance road safety by reducing the likelihood of head-on collisions, controlling unsafe turning movements, and improving traffic flow.
We’ll shift the temporary roundabout further south, move westbound traffic to the southernmost lane, and eastbound traffic to the northernmost lane.
There will be 1 lane open in each direction, with the new median in between the lanes.
We’ll have traffic management, signage and speed restrictions in place to help guide motorists safely around the area.
We encourage you to plan your journeys and allow extra travel time when travelling through the area.
