Shuttle bus

The Watson Street Interchange Upgrade is now underway.

From 16 February until mid-2026, the footpath along Watson Street between McCarthy Court and the Wallara Waters roundabout will be closed for safety. People will not be able to walk across the bridge during this time.

To help you move safely through the area while this closure is in place, we’ll run a free community and school shuttle bus.

Local bus services will continue to run as normal, with no changes to existing routes or timetables.

Community shuttle bus

We’ll run a free community shuttle bus to help you move safely between Wallan train station, Wallara Waters and Wallan town center.

The service will run 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, in a continuous loop between Wallan train station, the entrance to Wallara Waters and Wallan town center.

The community shuttle bus will run from 6am to 10pm each day to help pedestrians safely cross the bridge.

Pedestrians planning to cross the Watson Street bridge outside of these hours should call us on 1800 105 105 at anytime.

School shuttle bus

From the first day of the school term, Wednesday 28 January, we’ll run a free school shuttle bus to help students and families get ready for the footpath closure.

Only students who usually walk across the bridge to get to and from school can use the school shuttle.

Parents and other community members, including those travelling with children, need to use the separate free community shuttle bus from mid-February.

We won’t close the footpath until 16 February. We will start the school shuttle when school begins so students have time to adjust to the change.

This shuttle service will run only while the Watson Street footpath is closed.
