From consultation to construction
In mid 2023, we asked the community and local businesses to share their feedback through Engage Victoria to help shape planning for the Watson Street Interchange Upgrade.
Feedback showed strong support for the upgrade, with 98% of respondents in favour of improving Watson Street Interchange and the shared use path along sections of the Watson Street to help ease congestion, improve travel times and make it safer and easier to walk and cycle.
Ongoing engagement with the Wallan community
In October 2025, we met with community members at 2 local pop-up sessions in Wallan to share the latest project updates and design information.
Across both events, we spoke with close to 500 people, including local residents, families and business owners. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many welcoming the upgrade and recognising the benefits it will bring in easing congestion and improving safety.
These sessions also gave locals a chance to ask questions, share local insights and learn more about what to expect as construction approaches.
