Site investigations preparation works continue
To help us refine the design and prepare for major construction, we’ve been carrying out site investigations. These investigations will continue until December 2025 leading into major construction from early 2026.
These activities include:
- pavement, geotechnical and environmental testing
- vegetation pruning where required
- surveying to confirm project boundaries and existing services.
Site compound setup
We’ve started setting up a temporary site compound on the reserve along Wallara Waters Boulevard. This work includes:
- fencing the area
- installing driveways for vehicle access
- connecting utility services
- removing vegetation
- laying crushed rock for a stable base
- installing portable buildings for the site office and facilities
- investigating underground utilities on nearby nature strips.
The site compound will remain in place for the duration of the upgrade. Once the upgrade is complete, the facilities will be removed and area reinstated.
What’s next
We’re finalising the detailed design and preparing to start major construction in early 2026.
We’ve awarded the contract for the project. We’ll deliver the upgrade in partnership with Australian-owned and operated company Winslow.
Before major works begin, we’ll need to remove some vegetation to prepare the area. Tree planting and landscaping will take place once major construction works are complete.
