We’re improving road safety and traffic flow in Bacchus Marsh with two major upgrades

5traffic lanes over the bridge

Overview
The Swan Street Bridge is now upgraded with an extra traffic lane as well as new walking and cycling paths.
The nearly 70-year-old bridge carries around 30,000 vehicles every day and more than 1,000 pedestrians per hour after major events.
The upgrade helps to improve traffic flow in the eastbound direction, particularly during peak periods, and provide safer access across the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists.
Work started on the Swan Street Bridge in 2017 and major works were completed in September 2018.
