Get to know the signs you will see

With the West Gate Tunnels now open, you'll notice new signs along the West Gate Freeway. These include signs directing drivers to the West Gate Tunnel and City West.

Prepare your journey - know and understand the new road signage. Visit the toll webpage for more information, including toll points and prices.

This toll sign only applies to bus and truck drivers - whether you're using the new tunnel, West Gate Bridge or ramps to Hyde Street, Yarraville.

West Gate Tunnel - inbound tunnel signs — Follow this sign to take the tunnel to the city, and exit at North Melbourne, Docklands, or CityLink for the airport.

West Gate Tunnel - inbound AM peak — Cars, motorbikes and light commercial vehicles will pay an additional toll weekdays, 7-9am if they exit at either Dynon Rd, Footscray Rd or Wurundjeri Way.

West Gate Tunnel - Princes Freeway inbound — From Geelong/Werribee: Choose your lane early - stay left for the tunnel, to exit at Millers or Williamstown Rds, right for express lanes to West Gate Bridge.

Left lane for Mackenzie Rd, or follow the signs to City West for Footscray, Dynon Rds and Wurundjeri Way. Tolls apply to cars and motorbikes, 7-9am weekdays.

M80/Princes Freeway to City South: follow these signs to the West Gate Bridge using the express lanes.
