As the West Gate Tunnel Project moves closer to completion, a new tool has been launched to help Victorians prepare for future journeys using the new tunnels and road connections.

The online tool allows users to explore new travel options via interactive maps, detailed route explainer videos and a freight feature that will be added in coming weeks for truck drivers and logistics companies. With the tunnel to open by the end of the year, the ‘Explore Your Journey’ tool has been developed to these people are informed and prepared for all the new traffic routes and improved connectivity via the West Gate Tunnel Project.

Alongside the launch of this handy future journey tool, the West Gate Tunnel Project team will this month be in Geelong as part of a regional roadshow, at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre from Friday 13 June to Sunday 22 June.
The roadshow allows people to drive the West Gate Tunnel before it opens with a driver simulator meaning people can get behind the wheel and experience the tunnel and connections for themselves.
The West Gate Tunnel Project will provide a much-needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge, delivering an alternative river crossing, easing traffic congestion, taking 9,000 trucks off local roads every day and helping to improve safety and travel times for all road users.
