As work powers ahead to remove 4 dangerous and congested level crossings in Melton and Truganina and build a new Melton Station, crews are gearing up for a 10-day works blitz next month.
The project team will work around the clock from Friday 5 September to Monday 15 September, with service changes on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines during this time.
Exford Road in Melton will be closed at the level crossing from 8pm, Friday 5 September to 5am, Thursday 11 September, with detours in place to keep traffic moving.
Ahead of these works, the project team is holding in-person and online community information sessions to share construction updates and answer questions.
Sessions will be held at Melton City Council Hall on Wednesday 27 August, 5:30pm to 7:30pm, and online on Monday 1 September, 6pm to 7pm.
Bookings for both sessions are essential.
The dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns Road, Exford Road and Ferris Road in Melton, and at Hopkins Road in Truganina will be gone and the new modern and accessible Melton Station will open in 2026, two years ahead of schedule.
