We’re removing the level crossing at Ferris Road, Melton South and building a new road bridge over the rail line.
This design means we can get rid of the crossing sooner and will be less disruptive during construction.
Approximately 16,600 vehicles use this level crossing each day. Removing it will improve safety, ease congestion, and create better local connections to Cobblebank Station.
We’re in the early stages of planning with further detailed design and community engagement to be undertaken.
We're removing 7 level crossings between the city and Melton and building a brand-new Melton Station, making Melton level crossing free by 2026.
