We’re  removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns Road, Exford Road and Ferris Road in Melton, and at Hopkins Road in Truganina, and building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.

About 73,000 vehicles travel through these crossings each day, with the boom gates down for up to 28 minutes of the morning peak.

Removing these level crossings and building a new Melton Station will make journeys safer and travel times more reliable.

Planned timeline

Construction is underway, with all 4 boom gates to be gone and the new Melton Station to open in 2026, 2 years ahead of schedule.
