Construction is in full swing at Melton and Truganina, with works underway to remove 4 level crossings and deliver the new, modern and accessible Melton Station, set to open to passengers next year.
A 10-day construction blitz will kick off this Friday night as crews work around the clock on rail signalling, building foundations for 2 rail bridges, and demolishing the existing Melton Station building.
To allow these works to take place safely, buses will replace trains between Bacchus Marsh and Caroline Springs from Saturday 6 September until Monday 15 September.
Road detours will also be in place, with Exford Road closed at the level crossing from 8pm, Friday 5 September to 5am, Thursday 11 September.

When trains return to the line on Monday 15 September, passengers will use the temporary Melton Station, and there will be some pedestrian access changes in the area.
Passengers will be able to move between platforms 1 and 2 using a new pedestrian pathway that follows the rail line and crosses over Exford Road.
When the Melton Level Crossing Removal Project is completed next year, new rail bridges will take trains over Coburns and Exford roads and new road bridges will carry vehicles over the rail line at Ferris Road, Melton and Hopkins Road, Truganina.
The new Melton Station will open to passengers in 2026 and feature an open and airy pedestrian through link providing accessible entry to each of the 4 platforms.
Transport services in the west will also get a boost with the $650 million Melton Line Upgrade, increasing passenger capacity by 50% by allowing 9-car trains to run on the line from 2027, a year ahead of schedule.
