With the new Melton Station set to open to passengers on Tuesday 1 September, more than 200 locals have already joined guided tours of the precinct, getting a first-hand look at the transformation taking shape.
Given the strong community interest, additional tour sessions have been added to provide opportunity for more people to explore the station precinct and learn about the project.
Tours are now available on Tuesday 28 July and Thursday 30 July, at 10.30am or 2pm. The free guided tours start at Melton Station and run for approximately 45 minutes, and include a hot drink voucher from a local cafe.

During the walk, the project team will share information and answer questions about upcoming works, including around-the-clock construction next month to finish building the new elevated Melton Station and works to lower Exford Road and lift in the final rail bridge beams.
To allow these works to safely take place, Exford Road will be closed at the level crossing from Tuesday evening 11 August until Monday 31 August, and buses will replace trains on sections of the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines from first service Wednesday 12 August to last service Monday 31 August.
When train services resume on Tuesday 1 September, passengers will use the new accessible Melton Station, featuring 2 entrances and lift and stair access via a 16m wide through link. Customer service and toilet facilities will remain at the temporary station while work continues across the station precinct.
When a boom gate free Exford Road reopens, Coburns Road will temporarily close at the level crossing from Sunday 6 September to Thursday 24 September to remove the redundant rail track and reconstruct the road and footpath.
The Melton Line will soon be able to carry more passengers, with 2 of the 4 new platforms built for longer 9-car VLocity trains that will be able to run on the line from next year, boosting capacity by 50% on peak services.
Finishing works across the precinct will continue until later this year, including construction of the new 7 bay bus interchange, station facilities, forecourts and landscaping.
