The North East Community Fund gives community groups and organisations the opportunity to deliver exciting new initiatives and projects in Melbourne’s north east, bringing lasting community benefits to areas most impacted by construction.
Applications for the second round of funding have closed. There will be future funding opportunities available in 2024.
Grants
Initiatives seeking funding of up to $75,000 may be eligible for the Community Grants Program.
These initiatives should encourage community connectedness by bringing people together and involving them in their community, as well as providing a significant and lasting community benefit.
Applications must fit into one of the following categories:
Connecting communities' and neighbourhood grants: Up to $10,000 for a one-off initiative that aims to improve community connectedness and participation.
Celebrating community and neighbourhood grants: Up to $20,000 for festivals, events, and installations that bring local people together.
Transforming community and neighbourhood grants: $20,000 to $75,000 for improvements to local community, sporting and recreation facilities and local environments.
Partnerships
Applicants can seek funding for community partnerships up to $100,000 where applicants can demonstrate significant community benefit.
These initiatives should encourage community connectedness and cohesiveness by bringing people together and involving them in their community, as well as providing a significant and lasting outcome.
Funding will be based on merit and assessed in accordance with the assessment process outlined in the North East Community Fund guidelines. Initiatives who have already secured some funding support will be looked upon favourably given their potential to deliver significant benefits to the community.
Applicants must have co-funding for the project and demonstrate that other source/s of funding are confirmed. Co-funding could be in the form of financial and/or in-kind contributions.
