Streeton Primary School

Streeton Primary School has been designing and creating a unique outdoor education permaculture farm over the past few years.

With funding from the North East Community Fund the school will build an outdoor education area complete with wood fired pizza ovens and seating so the kids can cook and eat the food they’ve grown themselves.

The fund will contribute $100,000 to the school, to build the outdoor community gathering and learning space as part of the school’s permaculture farm.

Principal Leon Bell said the new shelter will enable the school to build on its outdoor program, where students can study the environment and continue to make an impact.

The upgrades are one of 50 projects funded as part of the North East Community Fund in areas including sport and recreation, environment and sustainability, education and community events.
