Watsonia Tennis Club is set for a major upgrade to its facilities, thanks to the North East Community Fund.
The Fund will contribute $91,000 to the tennis club to create a new accessible entrance to the clubrooms and toilets, install ramps, upgrade pathways, and create an accessible area for community barbecues and club events.
The upgrades will allow everyone to access the club’s existing hardcourts – which are some of the only tennis courts in the area that are a suitable surface for wheelchairs.
Club President Danny Hadjiantonakis says the club is committed to helping everyone in the community enjoy the benefits of tennis.
The Club’s upgrade is one of 50 projects funded as part of the North East Community Fund in areas including sport and recreation, environment and sustainability, education and community events.
