The new Monash Tennis Centre at Glen Waverley Sports Hub is now complete, with clubs and local players making use of the new facility.
The new tennis facility features
- 18 International Tennis Federation (ITF) standard courts, including 2 show courts
- golf practice facilities
- LED floodlighting on all courts
- multi-use pavilion with change rooms, public amenities, café, social space, and club storage rooms
- general amenities, including drinking fountains, bench seating, shade, and outdoor gathering spaces
- a significant upgrade to the intersection of Waverley and Jells Roads
- car parking improvements.
The project was delivered as part of a joint partnership with Monash Council to keep local clubs thriving while North East Link is built.
The tennis centre will be the new home for tournaments replacing the Boroondara Tennis Centre, which closed in December 2022. The Boroondara Tennis Centre was located on land needed for a crucial interchange to connect the North East Link to an upgraded Eastern Freeway.
