Scope settled
We reviewed feedback from our April 2025 community pop-ups, along with input from local businesses, public transport operators, Wyndham City Council and the Department of Transport and Planning.
We’ve finalised the design for the Ballan Road Intersection Upgrade. Key features include:
- replacing the congested roundabout at Ballan Road, Greens Road, and McGrath Road north with a new traffic light intersection, adding extra lanes through the intersection to improve travel time and journey reliability
- adding new traffic lights at McGrath Road south near the 7-Eleven, making it safer and easier to turn right towards Werribee
- providing dedicated pedestrian crossings and shared walking and cycling paths, making it easier to move between homes, services, schools, and businesses
- introducing a new bus priority lane on Ballan Road to improve public transport reliability.

Since January, we've been working behind safety barriers to build the northern half of the new intersection. This has allowed traffic to keep flowing on Ballan Road while construction continues.
From Monday 22 June we'll move to the next stage of major works and start building the southern side of the new intersection.
