Community feedback helping shape Mickleham Road Upgrade – Stage 2
Thank you to everyone who participated in consultation for the Mickleham Road Upgrade – Stage 2.
From 1 June to 28 June 2026, community members shared their views through Engage Victoria, attended a community pop-up session at Greenvale Shopping Centre, and spoke directly with project team members about the proposed upgrade.
During consultation, we received 151 submissions, 90 people attended our community pop-up, and more than 3500 people visited the Engage Victoria webpage to learn more about the project and provide feedback.
Community feedback showed strong support for the project, with more than 95% of survey respondents supporting the proposed upgrade.
We also heard valuable feedback about managing traffic and maintaining access during construction, addressing congestion and delays along Mickleham Road, project delivery timing, and opportunities to improve walking and cycling connections.
This feedback is helping us better understand local priorities and will continue to inform planning and design refinement as the project progresses towards construction in 2027.

Business case development
From 24 April 2023 to 14 May 2023, we asked for community and business feedback on Engage Victoria to help inform our Business Case and planning for the upgrade.
Feedback helped us understand how people used the road as well as views on safety, traffic flow and what we should consider in our planning. We also heard how local businesses operate and use the road network.
Feedback highlighted strong support for a potential upgrade to reduce travel times, boost road capacity and make it easier and safer to walk and cycle in the area. 95% of survey respondents supported the potential road upgrade and 99% of respondents said they would like additional lanes added to Mickleham Road between Dellamore Boulevard and Craigieburn Road.
