Upcoming intersection closure
At 5am on Friday 13 February, following a one-month closure, and the most significant period of disruption for the project, we reopened the Thompsons and Berwick-Cranbourne Road Intersection.
A temporary roundabout is now in place to allow all traffic movements while construction continues behind barriers.
Over the coming months, we’ll continue widening all four approaches to the intersection. This will be followed by drainage works, new traffic islands, installation of traffic signals and lighting, upgraded bus stops, shared use paths, and final landscaping.
Keeping traffic moving while we deliver the intersection upgrade remains our priority, and future works will be scheduled outside peak travel times wherever possible to minimise disruption.
