Thank you, Clyde North!
A huge shout-out to everyone who joined us at the Clyde North Community Family Fun Day at Bunnings in January.
It was fantastic to see the community come together to meet the project team, enjoy the activities and support local traders during the intersection closure.
Thanks to your support, hundreds of dollars in vouchers from local businesses (including EG Ampol, Red Rooster, Total Tools and M2 Café) were given away, and more than $2000 raised from the Bunnings sausage sizzle will go to Gethsemane Church in Cranbourne, helping provide food, clothing and essential services to those in need.
From digger climbs, face painting and the kids disco to SES vehicles, Spin & Win, and Bunnings giveaways, the day was packed with energy and true community spirit.
Supporting local business
We’re proud to support the local businesses that make Clyde North such a great place to live.
Over the last few months, we ran Hour of Power events at EG Ampol, Red Rooster, United Petroleum, Village Hoppers, and Amalfi Pizza and Pasta to encourage locals to shop nearby and enjoy a little bonus along the way.
From free ice-creams, soft drinks and bottled water to burgers, chips, garlic bread and egg paratha, there were plenty of tasty rewards up for grabs.
Thank you to those who came along and supported local businesses!
Now more than ever, shopping local makes a real difference. We’re encouraging our team and the community to keep supporting local traders.
Community and business feedback
Design option development
In March 2023, we asked the community and local businesses about how they were using the intersection as well as their views on safety, traffic flow and what we should consider in our planning and design options.
More than 1,800 community and business surveys were completed, and over 90 pieces of feedback were provided on our interactive map:
- 96% of community respondents and 95% of business respondents support an upgrade
- 87% of community respondents have concerns with the current intersection. When asked what concerns they have (multiple choice), the top responses were traffic flow (78%), safety (70%), road user behaviour (58%), and travel times (49%)
- 88% of community respondents rated traffic flow as poor or very poor, 9% said fair, and 3% said good or very good
- 92% of community respondents rate the current walking and cycling paths at the intersection as very poor or poor.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback. For further information on what we heard, view the Community and Business Consultation Summary (PDF, 2.9 MB).
