We've launched our Shop to the Top competition to support local businesses impacted by construction works and give schools in Armstrong Creek and Charlemont the chance to win a $5,000 prize.
During Term 1 and 2 of 2026, those shopping at The Village Warralily Shopping Centre and surrounding retailers on Barwon Heads Road will be giving a local primary school the chance to win $5,000 for educational resources.
All members of the public can participate by shopping at these stores and assigning their points to their preferred school among the list of participating schools:
Armstrong Creek School
Biyala Primary School
St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School.
No minimum spend is required. Every dollar spent at the participating retailers will earn 1 point toward shoppers’ chosen school.

A 650-tonne crane – named Titanic Jack by an Armstrong Creek primary student – has been on site for the delivery and install of 9 ‘super T-beams' at Armstrong Creek bridge as part of the Barwon Heads Road Upgrade.
Each concrete beam weighed 40 tonnes and took about 45 minutes to carefully lift, position and secure. The beams were lifted and installed over 2 days in March.
The crane was named Titanic Jack by a St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School student who won a school-wide competition.
The team will next pour the concrete deck slab, install concrete barriers, complete asphalting and line marking on the west side of the bridge.
Armstrong Creek bridge is being widened to accommodate the future Geelong-bound lanes along Barwon Heads Road, expanding its capacity from two to four lanes.
Work to widen the bridge commenced in November 2025, with excavation and demolition of some of the existing structure.
Traffic will be moved onto the newly built Geelong-bound lanes later this year, when we’ll start work to upgrade the east side of the bridge.
