Barwon Heads Road Upgrade

We’re upgrading Barwon Heads Road between Settlement Road, Belmont and Lower Duneed Road, Connewarre, to improve safety and make your journey more reliable.

We’ve upgraded Barwon Heads Road between Settlement Road, Belmont and Reserve Road, Charlemont. Work is now underway to upgrade Barwon Heads Road between Reserve Road, Charlemont and Lake Road, Armstrong Creek.

This project will improve:

• traffic flow in the area
• access to public transport by upgrading bus stops and installing new signalised pedestrian crossings
• active transport opportunities through new shared walking and cycling paths and dedicated on road cycling lanes .

Detailed planning is also underway to upgrade a further 2km of Barwon Heads Road between Lake Road, Armstrong Creek and Lower Duneed Road, Connewarre. Further information on the expected timing and next steps for this section will be provided as planning progresses.
