What’s new?
Opening by end 2025, the West Gate Tunnel is a new road that provides an alternative to the West Gate Bridge. You'll be able to use it to drive from the west to the city and back again.
The project includes:
- twin tunnels under Yarraville that connect the West Gate Freeway with the city and CityLink
- more lanes on the West Gate Freeway with new freeway entry and exit ramps
- new bridges and connections to exit to CityLink, North Melbourne, Docklands and the northern suburbs.
