This spring, 4 more level crossings will be gone for good.
Melton is now boom gate free, with new rail bridges now open over Coburns and Exford roads. The new Melton Station is also open, providing a modern and accessible station for the booming west.

Melbourne's west
As work on the new Melton Station and rail bridges nears completion, a section of Coburns Road will temporarily close from 6 to 24 September to remove the rail tracks and resurface the road.
In Newport, Maddox Road will be closed at the level crossing until 15 September, when the new rail bridge will open, removing the level crossing and permanently separating trains from vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
In Berwick, a section of Clyde Road near the Princes Freeway will be closed over the weekends of 4 to 7 September and 18 to 21 September, and the Princes Freeway under Clyde Road will be closed for a weekend in October while crews lay final asphalt, with the project on track to open to traffic in October, 7 months ahead of schedule.
Melbourne's north
Crews will be working on intersection realignment works for the M80 Ring Road Completions at Grimshaw Street, Greensborough from 11 to 13 September. Ramp upgrade works will also take place in Bundoora, with Plenty Road Greensborough-bound entry ramps to the M80 Ring Road closed at times on weekends in September and October.
Major upgrade works to the heritage Brunswick Tram Depot will pave the way for larger trams and 2 new accessible tram stops on Moreland Road. Part of Sydney Road will remain closed, with route 19 trams impacted until 5 September. Part of Moreland Road will then close from 13 September to 2 October and tram routes 58 and 6 will be impacted.
Melbourne's east and south east
As part of Victoria’s biggest road project, North East Link, crews are continuing to build the upgraded Doncaster Road interchange and asphalt new freeway lanes, requiring the Eastern Freeway to close between Chandler Highway and Tram Road from 10pm, Friday 11 September to 5am, Monday 14 September, and for a weekend in mid-October.
Work for North East Link’s Bulleen interchange will mean part of Bulleen Road will close during school holidays from Friday 18 September to early October. The M80 Ring Road ramps at Plenty Road will have weekend and overnight closures at times, and part of Grimshaw Street will close for a weekend in September.
In Berwick, Clyde Road will be closed in both directions between Bermyde Drive and Enterprise Avenue from 8pm, Friday 4 September to 5am, Monday 7 September, while crews undertake asphalting works on the Clyde Road Interchange Upgrade.
The Thompsons Road and Berwick-Cranbourne Road intersection will be closed from 18 to 24 September, while crews lay the final layer of asphalt, ahead of the project opening in October, also 7 months ahead of schedule.
In Dandenong, Hammond and Cheltenham roads will have detours until 22 September, when a new underpass opens, replacing the Webster Street level crossing.
Regional Victoria
Coaches will replace trains on sections of the Gippsland Line from 2 to 6 September for road work, track upgrades and maintenance work. Inland Rail works will see coaches replace trains on the Seymour and Shepparton lines from 11 to 16 September and on the Albury Line from 12 to 15 and on 21 September.
