The level crossing at Webster Street is close to Dandenong’s busy central business district.
Boom gates can be down for more than 52% of the morning peak, and during this time up to 43 trains run through the crossing.
Technical investigations for this crossing are ongoing to help determine the best way to remove the crossing.
Crews will be working in the rail corridor between Webster Street and Dandenong Station from 7am until 5pm, Monday to Friday until mid April.
Works include geotechnical investigations that will help inform the Webster Street Level Crossing Removal Project. During these works you may notice crews around the rail line and medium levels of noise associated with digging and drilling into the ground.
