We removed the dangerous level crossing at Ferguson Street by building a new rail trench under the road, making way for a new North Williamstown Station and an upgraded precinct for the community to enjoy.

The project included new cycling paths and pedestrian connections, thousands of new trees, plants and shrubs, seating, a table tennis table, bike storage facilities, landscaped open space, and public artwork.

Planned timeline

The Ferguson Street level crossing was removed and the new North Williamstown Station opened in December 2021

Construction to build the new North Williamstown Station, as well as landscaping and finishing works were completed in 2022.
