- more walking and cycling options
- better connections to and from the Princes Freeway and the rapidly expanding Pakenham Employment Corridor, as well as to the town centre.
Construction started in early 2023.
The Pakenham Roads Upgrade is part of a wider investment in improving transport infrastructure in Pakenham including level crossing removals at Racecourse Road, McGregor Road and Main Street, 2 new train stations at Pakenham and upgrades to Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road.
The Pakenham Roads Upgrade is being delivered in 3 stages:
Construction on the project started in early 2023, with major works on Stage 1 completed in December 2024 and major works on Stage 2 scheduled for completion by end of March 2025. Stage 3 is scheduled for completion in early 2027.
Together, these will create a more efficient transport network for Pakenham, reducing bottlenecks, improving connectivity and safety for all road users.
