Weekend closure
The Princes Freeway will be closed Gippsland-bound between the McGregor Road and Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road freeway ramps from 7pm Friday 3 May to 11.59pm Sunday 5 May. The Cardinia Road Gippsland-bound entry ramp will also be closed during this time.
Detours will be in place via Cardinia Road, Princes Highway, McGregor Road, Southeast Boulevard, and Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road with delays of up to 25 minutes expected.
Overnight closures
We’ll also close the Princes Freeway at times overnight from late April to mid-May:
Gippsland-bound
Detours will be in place via McGregor Road, Southeast Boulevard and Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road with delay of up to 5 minutes expected.
City-bound
Detours will be in place via Southeast Boulevard and the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup freeway ramps with delays of up to 5 minutes expected, depending on the closures in place. Please follow all detour signage as you travel through the area.
There will be changed traffic conditions on McGregor Road from 4 March until mid-2024.
The northbound lanes on McGregor Road will be closed between the Princes Freeway and Livingstone Boulevard, as we build a new northbound lane. During this time:
vehicles over 8.8m long will not be able to turn left from Henry Road or Webster Way into McGregor Road.

Vehicles travelling towards the Princes Freeway on McGregor Road can access Henry Road by detouring further south and performing a U-turn at the freeway roundabout. Vehicles away from the Princes Freeway on McGregor Road can access Webster Way by detouring via Park Boulevard and Honeyeater Way.
A section of footpath on Henry Road will also be closed. A pedestrian detour will be in place via Heritage Boulevard and Livingstone Boulevard.
