Reshaping travel in the west – new West Gate Tunnel now open
For the first time in almost 50 years, drivers now have another river crossing, with the twin tunnels connecting the West Gate Freeway to Docklands, North Melbourne and CityLink.
West Gate tunnel names announced
The outbound tunnel is now known as the Eureka Tunnel, while the citybound tunnel is now called the Bundawanh Tunnel.
