The next generation of up-and-coming riders are moving up a gear with a brand-new jumps park beneath CityLink off Footscray Road in West Melbourne now open.

Combining jumps, skills and pump tracks, the park offers a range of surfaces to cater for a variety of skill levels and ages, and also includes seating to view the new tracks and landscaping.

The park forms part of close to nine hectares of new parks and wetlands being delivered by the project, replacing previously closed-off industrial land as open spaces for communities to enjoy.

Access for locals across the inner west, Docklands, and the city, is possible thanks to a new ramp and bridge over Moonee Ponds Creek. This connection links the jumps park directly to the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail and the new Dixon Veloway along Footscray Road, creating integration with the broader cycling network.

These upgrades complement the completion of the Federation Trail extension, with the new walking and cycling bridge over the Williamstown Road exit of the West Gate Freeway opening on 14 December.

The bridge connects the Federation Trail to the new Hyde Street ramps, creating a safer, more direct route for people walking and riding in Melbourne’s west.
