We upgraded Morwell Station as part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade.
A second platform was added to allow more frequent and reliable services and so more trains can pass each other.
New stairs link the pedestrian underpass to the new platform entry. An upgraded underpass ramp has improved accessibility.
The new second platform is not directly opposite the original platform. This is to reduce the upgraded station’s impact to Legacy Place and the car parking area. It is in a better position to connect the station with the existing bus interchange.
The new platform has a large canopy over the entrance. We also delivered an enclosed waiting room with plenty of seating.
Trains began travelling to and from the new platform at Morwell Station in August 2025.
