We are upgrading Longwarry Station as part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade.

The upgrade features a second platform to enable more frequent and reliable services, and accessibility and amenity improvements for better passenger journeys.

The existing southern platform will also be upgraded to be more accessible.

The car park will be formalised, with additional accessible parking spaces and kiss and ride spaces, along with new bike hoops and a bus stop for replacement coaches.

The station precinct will support sustainable water management, including drainage channels along paths and planting of rain gardens to catch run-off, preventing localised flooding.

Community feedback helped shape the final station designs with dozens of community groups and station users providing feedback through a user-centred design process, resulting in 196 design recommendations

We sought advice from heritage and environmental experts to provide technical feedback on designs. Celebrating local heritage, improving user journey/experience, improved safety and function and accessibility were key themes highlighted by the community

We will duplicate track at Longwarry and Bunyip, which will provide more opportunities for trains to pass each other, helping to enable more services to run on the line and boosting reliability.

Major construction at Longwarry Station is targeted for completion in late 2022.
