We are upgrading Morwell Station as part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade.

A second platform is being added to allow more frequent and reliable services and so more trains can pass each other.

New stairs will link the pedestrian underpass to the new platform entry. An upgraded underpass ramp will improve accessibility.

The new second platform will not be directly opposite the original platform. This is to reduce the upgraded station’s impact to Legacy Place and the car parking area. It will also be in a better position to connect the station with the existing bus interchange.

The new platform will have a large canopy over the entrance. We are also building an enclosed waiting room with plenty of seating.

Major construction on the second platform at Morwell Station is complete, with station precinct works to be finished in the coming months.
