Overnight works, Kensington - Tuesday 21 January 2025

We will be undertaking track tamping works between 10pm on Tuesday 21 January and 4.30am on Wednesday 22 January at the western tunnel entrance in South Kensington.

This is part of our work to reduce noise in Kensington during Metro Tunnel trial operations.

These works will involve a hi-rail excavator being delivered to the rail corridor via Childers Street and moving up and down the rail corridor to resolve any alignment issues. There may be increased noise levels in the area while these works take place.

Over the next month, trains will run during the next currently scheduled trial operations periods on 25/26 January, 8/9 February and 15/16 February.

We thank Kensington residents for their understanding as we complete a rigorous train testing and operational readiness program to ensure that the new infrastructure and systems are safely working together and are seamlessly integrated into the network.
